Best udon I have ever had.

Under $30 for an awesome lunch for 4 people. Love the wooden plank menu and the bar seating. The dipping sauce was awesome!

This is the best Udon I have ever had in my life, tofu is very very nice. The best choice when you are travelling around Himeji. Easy to find with reasonable price.

I highly recommend coming here after walking through the castle. Very relaxed atmosphere and the English menu's are not just bad translations, they tell a small story and give recommendations. Portion sizes are perfect and the dishes are a delicate balance of textures, full of flavour, but still light on a hot day. One of the best dishes we've had in Japan in two weeks!

Very nice place to eat. Close to Himeji castle. Really good bang for the buck. They sell fresh made noodles with soup and a variety of side dishes. They serve your order within around a minute.

Handmade Udon noodle shop with amazingly cheap prices (especially considering it is near tourisic area). I ordered their signature Kamaage Udon(?), and they were very tasty. And it only cost me 700 yen. They do have an English Menu, and maybe even in other languages.

The udon was so delicious! The kitsune udon was simple but so delectable. We also had the menmen udon which was super tasty with strong tones of bonito. The owners were super friendly and menu in variety of languages were available.

I dream about this udon. It was well balanced, the noodles had wonderful mouth feel. No waiting nor long lines for a delicious well priced meal. English menu is available.

It doesn't get any more traditional than this place. The grandfather makes udon from scratch in the shop with a mesmerizing rhythm of experience. As he cuts the udon you can see him swinging the weight of his body with the cutting board and with precision that only decades of experience produces. They are very strict with the dishes that they serve: it's either on the menu or you don't get it. I tried to get an extra side of tempura and the owner said "no".

Cosy Udon place on just on your way to Himeji castle from train station.Udon noodles are handmade in the kitchen pretty much right before your eyes and it is an experience itself to watch the process.Menme Udon was definitely different from usual noodle soups. The saturated soup was a bit too salty to my taste. Kitsune Udon was on slightly sweet side. The fried tofu on top was delicious. It's a great little place to take a break while on your walk to Himeji castle or on your way back.

Delightful noodle shop where noodles are made in front of you. You won't get a fancy meal bit instead you will get a very comfortable meal. The service is friendly, there are menus in several languages, and the food is cheap.

Lovely comfort food - handmade udon close to Himeji Castle (down the main road). Unique was unique- I had the one where you dip it into sauce rather than having it in broth - while the missus had the Menme udon. That was super yummy with heaps of bonito flakes, sauce and egg piled into a bowl of goodness.

Walked in on a cold day for lunch and warmed up promptly with an excellent niku (beef) udon soup and a delicious onigiri - both perfectly seasoned. Broth was fantastic.The restaurant itself has a spacious interior with plenty of seating for one person (at the counter) or up to 4-5 people at a table. Kind staff, and very convenient. Prices were very reasonable too. Would love to go back whenever I’m in Himeji again.

Freshly made udon, one of the best I’ve had in Kansai area. I got the Okame udon which had fried sweet tofu skin, beef, seaweeds and fish cakes as pictured. The broth was heaven! Price was reasonable too. Highly recommended for lunch if you’re in the Himeji castle area.
